Photographed in early 2022 at the Glen Ridge train station on Ilford HP5+ 120 film. In my work, I investigate the inner character of my subjects. Whether I am shooting architecture or a portrait, my approach remains the same. I look for personality; shadow gradients, geometry, but more importantly, intangible elements that may otherwise exist only in memory. A rush of wonderment, the momentary pang of loss, or an instant of contemplation. My photographs explore feelings of nostalgia. The tension between the serenity of joyful recollection and melancholic longing… grief.
