In my photography, I seek to communicate the mood and emotion, the fundamental character, of a subject. Shadow gradients, geometry sculpted by light – things you can see – but more importantly, I aim to reveal the intangible elements that otherwise exist only in the realm of memory. A rush of wonderment, a salty breeze, the momentary pang of loss, rough twigs underfoot. My photographs explore the world of nostalgia. The tension between the serenity of joyful recollection and melancholic longing… grief.
