Trish Gianakis: Oral Fixation

Obsessions. The mouth is the most sensitive and sensual part of our bodies. Cravings manifested as an obsession with oral stimulation the face’s mouth open with fiber optic wires running through and out of the mouth represents the oral fixation and cravings that are manifested that cannot be fulfilled.

SUMMARY
Currently I work full time as a Professor at Saint Peter’s University teaching in the Fine Arts Department in Jersey City and I also teach as an Adjunct professor for FIT’s Unity XR: AR, MR, VR Development Certificate Program
I am a published poet and teach private art lessons at my studio in Stirling, NJ.
My fine art has been exhibited across the country. Recent exhibits include: Currently in International Online Exhibition, ‘The Endangered’; I am listed with my art on artsy.net; One-woman-show, 2020 ‘Elements of Emotion’ at Casa Colombo in Jersey City; 2019 ‘The Virginia Project’ invited among 14 women artists to create art based on Tina Barry’s poems about Virginia Haggard, Marc Chagall’s lover, and her daughter Jean McNeil exhibition at LIU Humanities Gallery, Brooklyn, NY and Wired Gallery, NY;
2019 ‘14C’ Juried Show, Jersey City; 2018 ‘Connect’ Raw Arts, Queens, NY; 2017 SVA Alumni show ‘Electronic Encounters’ SVA Flatiron Gallery, NYC; 2017 ‘Small Works’ Baruch Exhibition, Mishkin Gallery, NY; 2017 ProArts ‘Curators Choice’; 2019, chosen as Artisan in Residence at Ocean House Resort, RI where my raku ceramic art is in their permanent collection.
