My painting process involves collage and sectional images repeated in multiple layers to develop a vibrant visual narrative. Archival papers are combined with elements of my drawing and photography, layered onto wood panels with encaustic medium and paints.
Tracy Finn: Blue Meadow
This is the newest addition to my Homegrown series, and was influenced by listening to Coolio music after his untimely death. Sound and form, history, repetition, mood and color were used to tell a story. I spent weeks on the initial collage before refining the botanical shapes with blocks of encaustic colors and texture.
