Drawing from her education in Industrial Design, Samantha’s work is exploratory – its subject matter often informed by the nature of her chosen materials. Samantha received her B.A. from Montclair State University and MID from Pratt Institute. She is currently a Teaching Artist at Studio Montclair and Owner of Fern & Fossil.
Samantha Katehis: Dog Wearing Crown
My individually crafted teardrops are created in hand-drawn paper pulp that abstractly depicts the melancholia of human relationships with and disregard for nature. When arranged as a tear shower, they stands as a call to action for individuals to work together to create meaningful change, both in policy and personal action, to protect our most precious resources and habitats.
