People usually find time spent in nature to be ‘peaceful’; but nowhere is nature ever entirely serene. Each leaf flutters and falls, the branches sway and break, creeks& streams run – on and on (and on) – their rivulets never exactly the same. I try to make the paint convey the busyness here – the roots digging in for winter, the sky gathering clouds, the entire thing is moving & changing moment to moment,
