<br>Bluescape is an unusual work for me. For the past several years I have been creating collaged landscapes that address environmental issues in a style that borders the abstract/realist divide. I typically begin with photos of intricately patterned shadows in my home, which I often colorize using a computer program. Generally I have a thematic image in mind when I choose a selection of photos to cut up and collage. <br>Sometimes, however, the cut-up pieces resist this direction and lead me into another. This gives me the opportunity to express subconscious feelings. Bluescape, a purely abstract work, may reflect my visceral response to the turbulence and confusion of the past 2 years.<br>
