Rebecca Rosenheck: Primary Flowers

Lately, I’ve been focusing on still life oil painting in a north lit studio. Using no artificial light, I am trying to capture the beautiful glow that the north light imparts. In this painting, Primary Flowers, the glow on the flowers was so lovely and captivating that I wanted to convey it.

I work from life – either landscape en Plein air or with still life in the studio. My goal is to capture the luminous colors I see and paint the light. I work in pastel, watercolor, oil, and mixed media.
