I can see from my NJ studio 40 miles east to New York City. I left for college and graduate school and then came back to this the highest place around with its rocks deposited on the cliffs from a glacial ice sheet that stopped here and left the boulders. Trout streams and many of the memories of my exploring the area have underpinned my art’s imagery and the way I express myself in a way that echoes the working of natural forces.
Peter Allen: Totem and Circle
Cast in my studio and then remade many times until this year I found the juxtaposition of the straight and and the round as the reason why this piece should exist.
