Sunset was Inness’s favorite time of day, as he believed the sun was a physical manifestation of God poised between heaven and earth. Seeing a beautiful sunset outside my front door, I was inspired by the orange glow and by Inness’s spirituality to quickly grab my paint and brushes and rush outside to capture the magical moment. Orange light was sifting through darkened tree leaves, with a blue and lavender sky above for contrast. Though I used quick brushstrokes, by the time I completed my painting the night sky had set in.
Noaa Stoler: Between the Pines
$450.00
Tangerine-colored light filters through darkened pine trees at sunset. The orange glow is offset by a gray-blue-lavender sky above and dark woods and bushes in the foreground, providing contrast to the flame-colored sky which might bring to mind wildfires on the West coast.
