“Mist” was created during the middle of the pandemic. I wanted to convey the sense of mist and fog that I (and everyone else!) was experiencing. I used soft, soothing, pastel colors hoping that the “Mist” would lift soon.
My works are a fusion of acrylics, watercolor and gel mediums – “Splashing Colors” on canvas and paper. I mix my paintings with luminescent metallics and iridescents and love experimenting with gel mediums such as glass beads, pumice stone and gold mica flakes.
Primarily, I paint waterscapes, cityscapes and sunrises and sunsets – I am inspired by the quickly changing colors and movements. Especially during the pandemic, I found it soothing to paint sunrises and sunsets from around the world – always with the promise that there will be another new day – and hopefully happier times ahead. I want viewers to feel positive emotions when they look at my work: hope, peace, joy.
While a self taught artist, I worked for many years in creative environments – advertising, marketing, set design.
