Michelle Knox: Traces of That Day: 2

Michelle Knox: Traces of That Day: 2

SKU: 2021-00074.

Safety glass shot with a AR15 Assault Rifle.

This work was created pre-pandemic in response to the ongoing mass shooting taken hold in the United States over the past decade. The use of glass as a representant material elaborates on the fragility of the human condition and mimics the destructive forces affecting the body when confronted with guns. A dichotomy existed in producing objects of beauty from traces of violence acts.

Michelle Knox has been fully immersed in the world of art and design for more than 20 years.

She graduated at the top of her class from The California College of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Art. She later completed her scholastic career by receiving a Master’s Degree from Tulane University in New Orleans on a full scholarship. She is originally a New Jersey native and has recently returned to NJ after working and studying all over the country. Some venues for her work have included the Oakland Museum and The SF Museum of Craft and Design, along with numerous other fine art galleries nationwide. Michelle is the President of the Arts Society of Keyport and a Board of Trustee member for Monmouth Arts. When not raising her 3-year-old son and trying to make her own work, she facilitates artists and students learning and making their own art by teaching and creating educational programming and community art projects.
