Mary is familiar with the the power of transformation that can occur during art making; having experienced it several times. Worries can be contained in art and then hopefully, one can gain some perspective and insight that can contain solutions. This kind of experience happens when she begins by clearing her mind; then applying a medium to a surface and allowing the colors and shapes to trigger memories that she then explores in her work. Other times, Mary works out an artwork to represent an idea or concept.
