Artist Statement A lifetime love of art, along with a fondness for woodworking, has caused an inevitable fusion of my abstract shapes and designs with the sensual movement of wood. My abstract wood sculptures are created by carving and joining exotic and domestic woods. My sculptures reflect years of exploring and a longing for the elusive muse. The beauty of using wood in my sculptures is the more you create movement in the wood the more the wood shows it’s true self. My hope is to create sculptures that draw you in and inspire the viewer to touch each piece. Mark Stanley
