Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern: Abundance

Lisa Ficarelli-Halpern: Abundance

SKU: 2021-00068.

‘Abundance’ is inspired by the art-historical portrait by Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun. The model for this portrait is a good friend, steadfast feminist, married to a woman of color. The rest of the details: olive branch, banner, and feminist signs embedded in the background evolved immediately after the presidential election of #45. I rarely create overtly political art, but felt a strong need to express my feelings about gender and peace. I feel this digital print version in grisaille adds a documentary feeling to the piece.

Category: WomynsWerq. Tags: Black & White, digital, figurative, representational.
