Aleksandra Ekster is now considered a founder of Art Deco, of course not well-documented because women weren’t often credited in Art History. Her work as a painter and theatrical designer feeds my lifelong interest in this art movement, and my desire to capture it here in experimental print/mixed media. Deco was meaningful to my mother, who I suddenly lost this year; I dedicate this to her.
