I painted this from a picture my aunt took one morning when she was leaving for work. The tree is across the road from her house in rural Pennsylvania. I connect to this beautiful, proud tree because it stands alone, and that’s how I feel in my life. I’m deaf and legally blind and I often feel alone in this world.
