Seeing me and my camera, this man approached in a confrontational manner and asked ‘Do you wanna take a picture of this’. Of course I said yes, and snapped a few shots before he moved off as suddenly as he’d appeared. It wasn’t until later that I saw the writing on the cigarette. I don’t know what it means, but the encounter made me feel like he simply needed to be seen and heard. NYC, Jan. 2023
