Since 2013, my photographic work Sweeps is the result of experimenting with moving the iPhone, like a brush during exposures, recording time, movement and memory. Incorporating the skill set of both traditional and digital to produce the final photographic piece. No digital manipulation in post-production. The negative black area in the image is cut away allowing the wall, it hangs on, to be its negative space. Centuries-old aesthetic rules that imprison the photograph in the camera’s rectangle viewfinder are shattered.
