I rely on the unconscious to paint spiritual sensations beyond words. These works reflect my own sense of the unseen, the divine in nature and in the vast cosmos around us—something for which we have no language, something beyond our grasp that transcends the everyday. I use an analogous color palette to create misty, blurry sensations of my meditation on nature. I think of Carl Sagan’s belief that the Cosmos is “beyond ordinary human understanding. Lost somewhere between immensity and eternity is our tiny planetary home.”
