“The best way out is always through.”- Robert Frost. This work was made in contemplation of how we persevere through hard times, and the liminal state of being in the thicket / (thick of it) battling obstacles in life before accepting ourselves or thriving in our personal victories.

I created this work layer by layer (process video available on my instagram @peachf0x) reserving the bare wood grain for the body, and covering the rest of the image with splashes of verdant and vibrant colors. I cut the line drawing and foliage from heat transfer vinyl and fused it with the surface, suspended under archival varnish.
