Wherever I go I am always looking in all directions for that which is ordinary but slightly heightened or out of kilter, quotidian but causing me to stop in my tracks. Thus the title of one of my photo books: Unscheduled Stops. The other thing to be said is that color is essential to my way of seeing. Color and light speak for me so I can hide in plain sight.

Industrial light bathes a homely streetscape in a benediction of balance and strange beauty. I enjoy the give and take, the camaraderie of other photographers, the inspiration and strategies I gather from their work, the insights they provide into
my own work and the pleasure of viewing their work, thinking about it and offering comments and encouragement.
