Primarily a figurative painter, abstracts most express my view of things. The process of painting reveals instinctively, most often subconsciously, the direction of a series of work.
Since my experience at the Women’s March in Washington, my work reflects the rage and grief about sexual assault, both violent and verbal, that is endemic to our culture. It is personal. The documentary on Joan Didion, The Center Will Not Hold catapulted me into my most recent black and orange abstracts, which I dedicate to her infinite wisdom and observation.
I must acknowledge the influence of music in the lines and movement of my art. Energy, both soft and wild flows through everything I see and feel.
