My artwork tends to focus on visual snapshots of the everyday. I primarily paint or draw people and the urban or architectural environment. For example, architectural details that were created at a time when craftsmanship/labor was less expensive, or scenes that are just part of the daily routine. I try to convey a feeling for the locale or the person I am painting and I hope to provoke both curiosity and a feeling of emotional recognition. I carry a sketchbook and camera with me at all times recording both people and places and sometimes the sketches develop into more in depth detailed images. My influences are whatever I see that I am emotionally responsive to.
