Object: Kitchen Grater (1540-present) Subject: Hate (2021 version) The grater is a common household item that’s been around for a long time, but became popular in America during the depression. It can be found in most homes. Hate has probably been around forever, but has escalated alarmingly in recent years. Sadly, it too can penetrate people’s homes. Here I’ve repurposed the grater to slice and dice away hate and some of its ugly synonyms. Playing off the homonym, this piece is a wish for a greater world.
