Photographic artist, that’s what I call myself. Everyone views the world differently and I view it through my photographs. They capture not only a moment in life, but reveal the things others do not see: that everyone and everything is unique in its own way.

I have an unusual perspective and a simple goal: I want to show the artistic in the mundane. My photographs capture the beauty, the extraordinary, the unusual in the things we overlook. I want people to wonder, to become curious – and to re-evaluate their perceptions. I find inspiration in items that others discard such as rescued and recycled artifacts and incorporate them with my photographs to transform them into original pieces of art.

An antique barn door becomes the entrance to a photograph taken from within a collapsing shed; a copper chimney flashing, beautifully cleaned and restored, encases a shimmering hot-pressed aluminum photo whose origin I won’t reveal; a former dilapidated window, stripped, restored, distressed and re-caulked becomes a reflection – for the viewer and my photograph “Reflections”.

In a world where “following” is prized, similarities are valued and conformity is cherished, I want you to look closely. Nothing is the same. Notice the light at that particular moment, explore the detail, and wonder about the previous life of the recycled item – together they celebrate the juxtaposition of humanity and our environment. Together they celebrate Life!
