I have a difficult time recording things/making art from the way that everyone can see things already–which is a stance that’s pursued in a lot of art, and is more comfortable sometimes. I believe that my thing to do, as an artist, is to present something that hasn’t been seen before–that is the act of creating– and can at the same time be a launch pad for whatever direction, or visual journey, that the viewer happens on. And that along the way, there are spring points, to what’s been experienced, what has yet to be experienced, and what is dreamed of–hoped for. That is the beauty of abstract art, and that is my commitment to it. To express what very naturally comes forth from within, with the intention of connecting to the collective.
