I started working on this piece back in 2020. I had this black plastic that kind of resembled a bee hive. When thinking about The Queen Bee, Sasha Fierce came to mind. Beyonce’s alter ego has touched so many women’s lives by letting us know that we can be whoever, whatever, we want to be. So when I think of this Queen Bee, it reminds me of how fierce women can be.
