The beauty of carefully made objects reminds us that many of life’s satisfactions are in the doing. I love using well-made tools whether I am potting, gardening or cooking. Their contours, colors and textures speak to me. My current work explores the relationship between objects and the pleasure they give to the people who make and use them. I work primarily in clay, creating intimate, nature inspired sculptures. These sculptures are often motivated by reclaimed paraphernalia that I discover on walks in my neighborhood.
