Astrid Sarkissian: Le Carnaval des Animaux

Astrid Sarkissian: Le Carnaval des Animaux

SKU: 2022-427.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Astrid forayed into creating art that links her creativity and previous experience in set design. This union brought to light the collection of 3D hand-cut and hand drawn collages presented here. . Astrid Sarkissian’s collages were inspired by Le Carnaval Des Animaux, a humorous musical suite of fourteen movements by the French romantic composer Camille Saint-Saens. Each artwork depicts a different movement, capturing a scene with the varied animals. Stimulated by the story created between the music and Saint-Saëns “Grand Zoological Fantasy”, Astrid shares her own vision of Le Carnaval Des Animaux presented here.
