Shredded, knotted, stitched into and adorned, this piece grew from my frazzled “pandemic” mind set and also a reflection of the state of the country. Adornment is indicative of hope. I like that the pants and the many buttons and embellishments have hidden stories from across generations and continents.

The Pants They Wore. Black and Blue: Mired in the mind fog of our times I took to shredding, knotting and embellishing old jeans with wool, stitching, buttons, beads and washers. The shreds reflect the state of my mind and of society, embellishments and knots, the hopes and struggles that bind us together and help us overcome adversity. The pants communicate a history of human experience and are representative of the American dream. From utilitarian to high fashion denim jeans are a metaphor for life!
