Aidan Mirowsky: study of movement 5

Aidan Mirowsky: study of movement 5

SKU: 808.

Study of Movement 5 is ink on paper created in a studio class while the model danced and moved freely. I broke they page down in a storyboard creating smaller frames to allow me to work fast and capture the moment and movement.
Typically my work is conceptual and playful. As a multidisciplinary artist, working mostly in photography/video, painting, collage, installations I like to explore language, existentialism and  environmentalism. Practicing reportage and drawing people in motion en plein air is a good way to keep your eye sharp and challenge ones self to express the moment in a few lines and smudges and squiggles. I love how so little is needed to illustrate a moment, figure or object.
You have to imagine yourself in a person’s body to feel the tension and where their energy is flowing to aid in illustration of shapes and pressure of the line. Since time doesn’t stand still, you have to move quick. It’s really gratifying when you look at the page and you actually captured something.
