This ceramic bust was fired in the Japanese Raku process. The crackle glaze is a natural result of the quick firing and cooling. The word ‘Raku’ means enjoyment. The figure here has head slightly uplifted, eyes and mouth smiling. Hummingbirds, a dragonfly, and a daisy, all symbols of joy adorn the figure.
