A “folk-art conceptualist” working in two-dimensional collage and three-dimensional assemblage, most often combining the two. My work is stories told with objects.
Debra Schore: Things I Liked To Do
An 18-page art book to be displayed in 3D, on book stand or similar.. Based on the 1970 book ‘Things I Like To Do,’ published in Great Britain, and thoughtfully donated by Geoff Woodall or his heirs to a local thrift shop, ‘Things I Liked To Do’ is an 18-page art book that illustrates – by adding one letter to the original title – how the world has changed since 1970. Through a mix of collage and redactions, the book covers issues like climate change, the pandemic, school budgets, migrant workers, and more. The redacted text allows new poetic descriptions under each altered image.
