The work I am submitting for this call are landscapes done in acrylic on canvas.I worked on one new piece for the call and two are previous works. I chose dramatic skies, trees with lyrical linear quality and water reflective and mysterious, also luminous lighting similar to works by George Innes. My goal was to create landscapes that would draw the viewer in and surround them with natures power and beauty.

This painting depicts a rocky lakeside at sunset. The wind is a constant on this Irish terrain, whipping the water and stunting the the tree growth to one side. I meant to encompass all of natures elements of earth, wind, fire and water. The viewer is beckoned to sit on a rock at lake edge and feel the wind on your face and hear the rhythmic splashing of water as you marvel in the color of sunset.
