I came upon this small brook by chance while out riding my bike this summer. The sound of rushing water from the small falls is drowned out by the noise from traffic above which is the intersection of Ridgewood and Bloomfield Avenues. This quiet place below street level, is a glimpse at what this area was like a century or more ago. Painting this scene recently, was a welcomed distraction for me from the ‘noise’ that fills our minds as a result of the challenges we face in this world presently.
