I have an affinity for George Inness. The places he chose to represent, his spiritual practice, his composition all speak loudly to me. In studying his work through the years I recognize nuances of his composition which can best be understood if viewing the canvas in half and in half again. Each half or quarter of the painting stands on its own, compositionally. I offer these encaustic landscapes which follow his compositional style and were painted in an intuitive manner.
