Marlene Hendrian took a monoprint class at the Jersey City Museum shortly after college. Many years later she feels fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue printmaking. Marlene is inspired by nature and there is always a story behind her images. Creating her images is as exciting as deciding how to bring them forth. “Will it emerge from a woodcut, copperplate; will it be multi layered like a collagraph; will it be built up with chine colle or thread?” Marlene has taken printmaking classes at the Yards School of Art, Montclair Art Museum and New York’s EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, and online classes with the Center for Book Arts and Manhattan Graphics Center. Is also very much inspired by her abstract drawing classes. She has been displaying her prints in NJ since 2015.
Marlene Hendrian: Iris I
I love gardens and all they contain and create and give back in their serenity. I enjoy creating artwork that is inspired by walking through a garden.
