As someone with a solitary workspace, it’s even more important to have other artists to talk to, even for a tiny little while. Seeing others’ work, whether it’s in progress or finished, helps to understand other artists’ processes and practice having a critical eye in a positive, constructive manner. Showing work that’s either in progress or completed invites constructive criticism not otherwise available, as well as encouragement that maybe isn’t so easily realized.
