Vicky Katzman: Knotted Wrack
I am fascinated with plants. Close observation combined with drawing allows me to study their unique forms and structures as a means to visual identification, at which point I can learn more about that particular species / genus.
Indigenous plants and the many ways in which they contribute towards a healthy, balanced ecosystem especially intrigue me. Currently, I’m working towards certification as a Rutgers Environmental Steward and developing a project in support of our native flora. It will be satisfying for me to use my artistic skills in support of that which continually inspires me.
