This submission is derived from an image of a building in NYC. I have employed a portion of that building that exemplifies some essential characteristics of color, texture and shape, and through digital manipulation transform it into a study of pattern, repetition, texture and symmetry.
Dave Magyar: Reflections IV
All the work selected for this submission is rooted in photography and derived from natural and manmade forms. In each instance, only a portion of the original image remains. A portion that exemplifies essential characteristics of the subject. By isolating them or dissecting and reassembling them, I use the colors, textures and shapes found in an image as an inspiration and transform them into something otherwise unimagined. An image where the sum of the parts is much different then the whole.
