This piece was created in September 2020. The stitched cotton threads into the linen canvas represent many voices and hopes. The dissembled eyeglasses represent different viewpoints and identities. I wrote directly on the surface of the work to speak out for myself and people around me in their own languages, such as English, Chinese, and Bengali. Instead of looking outside to perceive reality, I listen to my inner voice to ponder upon life.
