At Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark, there is a door in a stairwell that leads out to a courtyard. During a trip there, my father paused for a moment to look outside & became silhouetted, with just a faint hint of light reflecting around his shoulder & side. This was the first time he & I had been to the country our forefathers had called home. This was a quiet moment, but one I loved witnessing.
